Wreck Dives |

2.
S.V. Florence - Sailing Vessel
This is a good dive for Novices. Depth 10 meters
and height of the wreck is 4 meters and it sits
on a sandy seabed. The vessel was on route
from Galway to Derry with a cargo of flagstones.
While
sheltering from a storm struck rocks and sank.
8. Inish Dooey
Depth 15 meters. Wreck situated on the N.E side
of The Island Boilers and there is a large
propellor to be seen. The seabed here consists
mainly of Kelp.
9. HMS Wasp
Situated just of Tory Island. The dive Depth is
15 meters. The wreck lies mainly in gullies near
the shore. This is a very nice dive - weather
permitting. There are two nice Cannons to be
seen here. The seabed is sandy.
17. SS Kalliopis
Depth 25 meters. Lies approximately 30 feet of
the rocks on the north coast of Donegal out from
Downings. A good dive due to the large amount of
wreckage to sift through, consists of a lot of
crockery, the boilers and funnels can still be
seen. Good dive for the novice with some
experience.
The vessel was of Greek origin, on her way to
London with a cargo of grain. After being
torpedoed by a U-Boat caught fire, drifted on to
the rocks and sank.
18. S.V. Gaelic
Depth 23 to 30 meters. This vessel lies at the
foot of Frenchman's Rock (at Melmore Head),with
deep gullies around it up to 30 meters. The
seabed is made up of rocks and shale. This is a
good dive for the experienced diver. Lots of
different sea life to see.
23. S.S. Laurentic
Depth 40 meters. Lies at the mouth of the Lough
Swilly. Seabed is gravel. The Laurentic is the
wreck divers dream, with her twisted metal and
the thought of finding her long lost treasure.
Sea life is in abundance on and around this
wreck.

Scenic Dives |

1.
Breaghy Head
Here you dive through an Arch -
Depth 10 meters.
3. Pat Mc
Gees 1
A good Training dive. Depth 10
meters. A scenic dive with an
abundance of sea life
e.g Cuckoo, Mrasse, Ballan and
Lobster.
The seabed is rock with sheer
walls.
4. Pat Mc
Gees 2
This dive is the same as Pat Mc
Gees 1 except that the dive
depth is 20 meters.
5, 6, &
7. Horn Head
Good sheltered dives from
Westerlies and Depth ranges from
20 to 30 meters.
The seabed is rocky and sandy.
There is an abundance of fish to
see and also Cave dives.
Above these dive sites are the
Horn Head Cliffs, these cliffs
are home to a variety
of bird life including Puffins,
Seagulls, and Cormorants.
10, 11, &
12. Tory Island
The Depth ranges from 4 to 30
meters. There are many first
class dives around
the island in very clear waters,
for instance dives through
Arches, Cave dives
and also some Deep Drop Offs.
There is also an abundance of
sea life on view.
The seabed is sandy with large
boulders (rocks).

Carson's Point
With a Depth of 10 meters, the
seabed consists mainly of Kelp
and Sand.
This is a great place for sea
life especially Lobster.
14.
Wherryman Rock
Depth ranges from 8 to 20
meters. A great dive for the
Trainee Diver.
The seabed is sandy with rocks
and some Kelp.
15. Bun
Bockan
Here we have a cliff face that
drops from a Depth of 20 to 25
meters.
16. Black
Rock
With a Depth range of 10 to 20
meters, this site is perfect for
Training.
On one side of the rock the
depth is 10 meters and on the
other side it reaches 20 meters.
19. The
Limeburner
This is a large rock
approximately 2 miles north of
Melmore Head. Depth 10 to 40
meters.
A fabulous dive with deep
gullies and drop offs for the
experienced diver.
Sea life is in abundance with
Lobster, Crayfish and many other
types of sea life to be found
here.
20, 21 &
22. Melmore Head
Melmore Head is on the Rosguill
Peninsula's northern most point.
Depth ranges from 10 to 30
meters.
This site offers a choice of
dives, one on the east side of
the Head the other on the west
side.
Seabed is sandy. On the west
side there are deep gullies, and
on the east side are large
boulders and an abundance of sea
life.
25. Mill
Stone
Depth 15 meters. A sheltered
dive. The seabed is sandy.
26.
Woodquarter
Depth 20 to 25 meters. A
sheltered dive. The seabed is
sandy.
27.
Massmount
Depth 20 meters. Rock face.
28.
Campbell's Bed
Depth 20 meters. Reef where the
seabed is sandy and kelp. Great
sea life to be seen. |

Drift Dives |
|
24.
Dundoan
Depth 19 meters. Rock and
light. This is a great Drift
dive. Not for the faint
hearted.
29.
Mosie's Point
Depth 10 to 15 meters.
Lovely Drift dive -
sheltered. Seabed is sandy.
30.
The Narrows
Depth 10 to 20 meters. This
is a Drift dive. Not for the
faint hearted.
This dive site is located
between Mevagh Boatyard and
Melmore Head,
easy to find as there is a
beacon erected on a rock in
mid channel.
